I just finished an interview with April Hettinger from Chanel 13 KYMA Yuma/El Centro.

We spoke about the 245th Marine Corps Birthday, which is today.
We also discussed the importance of Veterans Day which is tomorrow.

If you would like to watch the interview will air tomorrow on Channel 13 at 4pm, 6pm, and 10pm.

Happy Birthday MARINES!

Today we celebrate 245 years of a proud legacy. I want to wish everyone that has ever earned the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor a Happy Birthday!

One of the things that has always amazed me is that it does not matter when you served, only that you did. You can be anywhere in the world and recognize another Marine by a number of things. Maybe it’s a tattoo, the haircut, the way we walk and talk or the general courtesy we have for others. One of you will proudly exclaim, “Semper Fi Marine” and the other will call back with a “Semper Fi” and smile of their own.  Instantly, you are brothers. You may be from different eras, be a different race, different sex, different religion, but you both share the most important common characteristic, you are Marines.

If you are not a Marine this might be difficult to understand. Many ask what makes the Corps so good?  The answer- the individual Marine, for each individual Marine knows that they are not at all an individual, but part of a TEAM.  Each Marine is ready to put it all on the line for his fellow Marines.  We are in fact a family.  Marines will tell you that many times we fight and argue like family.  However, don’t dare attempt to hurt a Marine. Complete strangers will come to the aid of their fellow Marine, simply because he is a brother.
To us our Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis, is not a catch phrase, but a way of life.

Today I will still be out campaigning. Please makes sure to vote and Vote HIDALGO. I am so proud of my team and all we as a team have accomplished during this campaign. We must run it through the tape and win this election.
